Telangana CM Revanth Reddy said Group I examinations will be conducted according to the schedule and urged aspirants to prepare well and take the examinations. After the day witnessed high tension protests for rescheduling of exams by Group I aspirants and Opposition parties in Hyderabad, CM clarified that Government will go ahead with the exams according to schedule, ruling out any possibility of rescheduling.
“You have held agitations for the past ten years demanding release of job notifications and filling up govt posts. When Congress Government is conducting exams to fill up govt jobs, you are protesting against it. Pls think. Don’t fall in the trap of Opposition parties,” said Revanth Reddy making an appeal to Group I aspirants. He made the appeal to Group I aspirants, speaking at the Police Duty Meet 2024 program.
“During the release of Group I notification itself, it has been clearly said that posts will be filled up according to GO 29. If you had any concerns then you should have raised then itself. How is it fair to protest three days before the examinations? Government has already made all arrangements to conduct examinations. How can it stop now?” questioned Revanth Reddy, trying to reason with aspirants.
“GO 29 was brought in to protect the interests of aspirants belonging to SC, ST, BC sections. According to GO 29, it was decided to allow candidates according to 1:50 ratio. If we change the rule now, then Court will not allow and the whole examination process will be derailed. That will be huge loss to the students who have been struggling hard for the past ten years. That’s why we are going ahead with conducting Group I exams according to the schedule. We are doing this only to safeguard your future,” further said Revanth Reddy emotionally appealing to Group I aspirants.
Speaking at the Telangana Police’s program, Revanth Reddy ordered Police t not to use force against protesting students. His direction to Police came in the wake of Police high handedness against protesting Group I aspirants in Ashoknagar.
Group I examinations will be held from October 21 to 27.
