At last Lok Sabha has accepted no confidence motion for discussion. TDP’s no confidence motion on BJP led NDA government is coming up for discussion tomorrow. Even though everyone knows the outcome of this motion, people are curious to see what will be discussed during the motion and how different political parties are going to behave.
Shiv Sena:
Shiv Sena party that has been criticizing BJP and NDA since last couple of years, now decided to back the government in tomorrow’s no-confidence motion. The decision was taken after Amit Shah dialed Uddhav Thackeray this morning. It is known news that Shiva Sena was the first political party to leave NDA in Modi’s regime. This development definitely impacts their future relations and one may not surprise if Sena backs NDA by 2019.
AIADMK:
AIADMK party that was main culprit for NCM not taken up for discussion in parliament in last session, now decided to abstain from voting. Already the party is facing huge antiwave from people for colluding with center. So it can not vote for BJP even if it wants to do so.
BJD:
Naveen Patnaik’s BJD, with 20 MPs, is the 5th largest party in Lok Sabha. BJD too indicated that the party will abstain from voting, and obviously this will help NDA government. It is interesting to see this happening because BJP and BJD are at loggerheads in Odisha where BJP emerged as strong opponent to ruling BJD in recent times.
TRS:
Telangana Rashtra Samithi is also expected to abstain from no confidence motion voting this time. Even though KCR fired salvos at Modi, BJP local leaders are at loggerheads with TRS, there has been criticism on KCR on colluding with Modi and his federal front is just plan-b of Modi. Now KCR abstaining from voting also giving strength to the same criticism.
YSRCP:
This party’s decision to resign MP’s is proving costly now. In the month of April, when YSRCP MPs resigned, we analyzed various permutation and combinations (https://www.telugu360.com/what-happens-ysrcp-mps-resign/) and commented that, “Second scenario- YSR CP MPs resign but “No confidence motion” is taken up by speaker in next sessions or any sessions before elections. If this happens it will be a big blow to YSRCP as everyone will start saying Jagan made a big blunder of his entire career. “. Now exactly same thing is happening. YSRCP leaders are not able to justify their decision as it made them lose a historical opportunity of speaking during no confidence motion against Modi. Even though TDP leaders alleging YSRCP intentionally resigned before no confidence motion on Modi to help Modi and ysrcp alleging BJP and TDP colluded and that’s why the motion is taken up after exit of YSRCP MPs, both the arguments seem to be not valid. It’s just a costly mistake from jagan’s side.
True colours of many other parties will be exposed during the discussions and more during the voting.
