CM-in-Waiting YS Jaganmohan Reddy addressed a media conference in Delhi after meeting PM Modi. He spoke on various issues on which he made a representation to Modi.
Special status, one of the Navaratnalu promised by YCP, was among these issues. Jagan told the media that he has asked Modi for conferring special status, for fulfilling bifurcation promises and for extending financial assistance to AP.
At the same time, Jagan said that the BJP does not need support from YCP MPs now as it has got majority on its own at the Centre. It is not possible to bring pressure on the BJP to force it to concede special status. Jagan said that despite this helplessness, he would continue to ask for special status whenever he would meet Modi.
Jagan said that apart from demanding status, there are also other important issues of getting Central funds to meet the immediate needs of AP. He said he had asked Modi to save Andhra Pradesh considering its disadvantages. Apparently, there is no assurance from Modi on special status.
