Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau is bracing up to probe the role of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in the infamous ‘cash for vote’ case. Now the million-dollar question is what strategy will the Telangana ACB officials adopt in questioning the AP Chief Minister? Will they issue notices to Naidu by asking him to cooperate in the investigation? Or, will they directly go to the AP CM to record his statement?
As the probe is imminent, now the ball is in TDP’s court to take a decision following the development. Will the TDP file a quash petition in the High Court? Or, will it knock the doors of the Supreme Court?
The ACB on Wednesday submitted a memo before the court stating that it would complete the investigation by September 29.
It may be recalled that a private petition filed by YSRCP leader and Mangalagiri MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy had raised questions as to why the role of the TDP president is not being probed. The petitioner also submitted a copy of a voice sample, which is alleged to be that of Naidu’s, that was tested in a private laboratory. The ACB sleuths told the court that they would complete the probe before September 29.
The chargesheet had been filed against TDP MLA Revanth Reddy as A1, Harry Sebastian as A2, R. Uday Simha as A3. Though Sattuaplli MLA Sandra Venkata Veeraiah was interrogated by the officials there was no chargesheet filed against him.
Another accused number 4 in the case Mathaiah got a reprieve in the case after the High Court quashed FIR filed against him.
