This vijaya dasami heralded 21 more districts to Telangana making it a total of 31 for the convenience of administration. Even as people are busy celebrating dasara, new collectors and superintendents of police took charge to take care of 68 revenue divisions 584 mandals in the newest state at 11.13 am on Tuesday.
The Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao formally launched Siddipet district, his home turf, in the presence of his nephew and Minister T.Harish Rao, and dubbed that formation of the district as “a grand administrative reform.” KCR’s ministerial colleagues took part in official programmes conducted for the same purpose across Telangana. KCR’s son and another high profile Minister K.T.Rama Rao was present in Sirisilla.
KCR flooded Siddipet with sops that include Rs.100 crores to take up developmental activities, a medical college and a university apart from an assurance that the town will be transformed into a beautiful city. “30 years ago, when NT Rama Rao was going to Karimnagar, I made him to stop to garland Ambedkar statue here. I gave a representation to him requesting him to constitute Siddipet district. I am lucky to fulfill the dream in the capacity of the Chief Minister of the State. This is one of the happiest days in my life. I am controlling my tears of joy,” KCR said reiterating that he would strive for the development of Telangana “still I am alive.”
KCR also said that the Minister Harish Rao would enjoy his blessings. As requested by Harish, KCR said that the district would get rail and godavari waters soon. Medical college will start functioning from next academic year.
“Since I was born here and this land must have privilege of it, I am announcing Rs.100 crore to take up developmental activities,” KCR said adding that he wants to bring administration to the doorsteps of people. Later, KCR launched Markook mandal in Siddipet district.

Harish Rao delivered an emotional speech and praised his uncle in unequivocal terms. “In KCR, K stands for Knowledge, C for commitment and R for Reconstruction (of Telangana),” Harish said.
The Telangana Rastra Samithi government issued full front page advertisements in all newspapers indicating the benefits of having as many districts.
