As is evident from the outcome of the Vizag Partnership Summit-2016 Andhra Pradesh is flooded by investments. The state has attracted about 4.5 lakh crore investments and MoUs have been signed. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, according to the reports from chief minister’s office, has created waves in Davos as well. He extracted commitments from many world business leaders to set up shop in Andhra Pradesh. Though the quantum of investments in terms of money is not revealed yet, it may exceed a lakh or two lakh crore. Now, government of Andhra Pradesh accorded permission to newly appointed advisor Dr Ravikumar as well to tour whole of Gulf and get more investments. Already dozens of IAS officers and ministers visited many countries to convince the investors to make Andhra Pradesh their next best destination.
Dr. Ravikumar P Vemuru, Advisor to Govt., NRT Affairs and Investments , had sent a note to the government on January 15, 2016 stating that he ” intends to visit Kuwait, Dubai, Sharjah, Bahrain, Qatar from 28. 01.2016 to 03.02.2016 to promote investments from various companies, engage Non-resident Telugus residing there as well as to encourage them to adopt their villages as part of smart village program”. And the state government fast tracked the letter, immediately requested the ministry of external affairs, New Delhi to accord political clearance of Government of India in respect of Dr. Ravikumar P Vemuru, Advisor to Govt. to visit Kuwait, Dubai, Sharjah, Bahrain, Qatar from 28/01/2016 to 03/02/2016.
Pending the clearance from the ministry of external affairs, Andhra Pradesh government on Saturday accorded permission to Dr. Ravikumar P Vemuru to visit all the countries he specified in his note to mobilize investments.
Dr. Ravikumar Vemuru, MD, was appointed as an Advisor , Non-Resident Telugu Affairs including Services and Investments on September 3, 2015.
