The ruling party TRS in Telangana has been focusing on “Operation Akarsh”, which is supposed to begin after Deepawali festival, and planning to attract upcoming rebels in opposition parties which have huge competition for assembly tickets
Though the Congress Party, which is leading Mahakutami, has announced the seats to be allocated to its alliance parties including TJS, TDP and CPI, the list of 95 candidates is yet to be declared. Sources said that the Congress would announce its candidates after Deepawali and soon after the development; the TRS would implement its ‘Action Plan’.
The sources added that both the ministers Mr. T.Harish Rao and Mr. K.T. Rama Rao along with Nizamabad MP Ms. K. Kavita were directed to handle “Operation Akarsh” by the party’s supremo Mr. K. Chandrasekhara Rao. Even the trio have already announced, “There would be a cinema after the announcement of Mahakutami candidates” that indicating a big strategy by the ruling party.
So far, the TRS has announced 107 candidates and there is no clarity on the remaining seats. Sources said that few seats would be allocated to the rebels from Congress and TDP. “In congress, at least 4 leaders are seeking tickets from each assembly segment and few have already disappointed due to losing their stronghold due to alliance parties. The TRS is planning to attract the rebels by luring either party’s ticket or MLC posts. So far, the congress is showing interest in contesting from 89-95 seats and the remaining is for the alliance parties,” the sources added.
The sources said, “For example, the CPI is seeking ticket from Husnabad and congress leader Mr. Aligireddy Praveen Reddy has already begun campaign claiming he must get the ticket. In Kothagudem, ex-MLA Mr. Kunamaneni Sambashiva Rao from the CPI has been confirmed as Mahakutami’s candidate, ex-Minister and aspirant from the Congress Mr. Vanama Venkateswara Rao desires to contest as independent. In Serilingampally, the ticket is almost confirmed to TDP and ex-MLA and strong leader from Congress Mr. M. Bixapathi Yadav is planning to contest as rebel. Similarly, in other segments, congress will face rebels and TRS will join them into party. The TRS has already begun joining from BJP.”
