It was a star studded and glittering ceremony last night in Hyderabad as the who’s who of South Indian film fraternity graced the 64th Jio Filmfare Awards. The event acknowledged excellence in various categories of South cinema. Top artists and technicians of Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada have been honoured.
Tollywood star NTR won the best actor award for his emotional performance in the 2016 family drama Nannaku Prematho. Samantha, too, bagged the coveted black lady for her performance in A..Aa. Allu Arjun and Ritu Varma took away the critics award for best actor and actress.
Pelli Choopulu, the runaway hit of 2016, has won the best film award in Telugu. Devi Sri Prasad bagged the best music album award for Nannaku Prematho.
Superstar Krishna’s wife and veteran director/producer Vijaya Nirmala has been honoured with the Life Time Achievement award.
