Half way through 2019, only a few number of Telugu films that released so far have managed to impress overseas audience. F2, Majili and Jersey are among those which have emerged as profitable ventures for buyers in overseas. Summer biggie Maharshi has ended its run and turned out to be a flop as it fell short of break even mark.
Now, trade circles have pinned hopes on upcoming films. Samantha Akkineni’s upcoming female centric drama ‘Oh Baby’ is one film which is carrying good promise in overseas market. The film, inspired by a Korean drama, directed by Nandini Reddy is releasing on July 4th which is a holiday weekend in overseas. It is expected to take decent openings as Samantha carries good craze among audience there. With Summer holidays coming up in US, Oh Baby has a good chance to notch up promising revenues in the first two weeks.
The entertaining teasers of Oh Baby have set up decent expectations in audience. The interesting theme of an old lady suddenly finding herself in a young woman is likely to be the USP for this film. Rao Ramesh and Naga Shaurya are playing significant roles in it and veteran actor Lakshmi is essaying the old lady’s role. Suresh Babu has produced this film.
