In what can be said as a huge setback for Allu Sirish’s upcoming film Okka Kshanam, AK Entertainments banner has decided to proceed legally against the film in connection with the remake of Korean film, Parallel Life. Here is what actually happened :
Earlier today, Telugu360 reported that Anil Sunkara of AK Entertainments got hold of the remake rights pertaining to ‘Parallel Life’ and produced a film titled as ‘ 2 Memiddaram ‘. The trailer which was unveiled in the morning revealed that the film is an official remake of Parallel Life. This trailer came as a shocker to Okka Kshanam as its storyline also seems to be inspired by the same Korean film. Though there are numerous speculations in media and industry circles, Okka Kshanam team is maintaining stoic silence on them.
Now, it is learnt that AK Entertainments is planning to sue the makers of Okka Kshanam. They have already lodged a complaint in the Telugu film chamber regarding this issue. Interestingly, still there is no response from Okka Kshanam team. If this happens, Okka Kshanam will definitely get mired in legal tangle before its release.
Also, AK Entertainments is looking to release 2 Memiddaram one day before Okka Kshanam releases or they might release the film directly into web. Either way, it will impact Okka Kshanam badly as the film is just two weeks from release.
It remains to be seen how this issue gets resolved by the two producers.
