Nagarjuna-KRR’s Om Namo Venkatesaya has finished its run worldwide. The distributor share of the film is 10.2 Cr. The film is an epic disaster with over 60% loss to buyers thus putting an end to the success streak of Nagarjuna.
The film an All Time disaster in Overseas with more than 5.5 Cr loss for the distributor. Nizam distributor has lost more than 4.5 Cr as he has bought the film for 7.20 Cr NRA (8 Cr advance). Uttarandhra area buyer has seen an approx 2Cr loss while East/West Godavari area distrubutor has lost an approx 3Cr. Krishna and Ceeded was own release by the hero through regional distributors which means he has recovered less than 30% of his remuneration.
This is 4th devotional film from the duo and 1st Disaster. Even Shiridi Sai was an Average. The film is a biggest disaster for buyers in Devotional films but Sri Rama Rajyam was even a loss venture for the producer.
The film had a strange trend at boxoffice as it continued to do decent business only over the weekends. The film had other competing films every week. The word of mouth was decent. So what’s the actual reason for the film not performing on weekdays. A proper release date or majority of the audience loosing interest ?
