Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh government on Thursday ratified GST Bill in a special session held in AP Assembly. Though, special session has been convened to ratify the Bill, the opposition parties – the YSRCP and the Congress demanded a discussion should be taken up on the special status in the House.
The Assembly began on an uproarious note with opposition leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy blaming leader of the house and AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for accepting the special development package by compromising with the Centre on the demand for special status.
Though Assembly Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao urged the opposition members to maintain decorum of the House, the leaders stormed to the Speaker’s podium by raising slogans. Pandemonium prevailed for sometime in the House when the opposition leaders threw papers in the air to demonstrate their protest against the State government’s decision to accept the package.
BJP legislator Vishnu Kumar demanded immediate suspension of the opposition leaders who causing trouble by stalling House proceedings.
The opposition parties – the YSRCP, the Congress including left parties gave a call to shutdown Andhra Pradesh State on September 10 protesting the injustice meted out to the State from the Centre.
