While the TRS government and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao maintaining silence without any celebrations on the completion of half of his five-year term, the opposition parties seems to be intensifying their tirade against the government. They are particularly accusing that the government forgetting those played crucial role in Telangana movement, particularly martyrs, activists and youth belonging to the marginalised sections.
Telangana TDP working president A Revanth Reddy after paying tributes at the statue of Srikanth Chary, at LB Nagar crossroad, who committed suicide on December 3, 2009 demanding statehood for Telangana, demanded the state government to provide an ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh to the kin of those who committed suicide for the sake of Telangana statehood.
Seeking to observe December 3 as the Telangana Martyrs Day, he said that the government should also provide a government job to a person from the Telangana martyrs family, a double bed room house and three acre-land.
TPCC Chief Spokesperson Dr. Dasoju Sravan slammed Industries Minister K. Tarakarama Rao saying that latter had used derogatory language toward the Telangana political chiefJAC Prof Kodandaram. He accused that KTR had insulted Prof Kodandaram by saying that he was carrying on the Opposition propaganda and was sharing dais with Telangana traitors.
He accused the TRS leaders of misusing the official machinery to intimidate all those who are questioning the state government and its policies. He also pointed out that the government is harassing Telangana United Front chief Vimalakka by sealing her organisation office.
CPI state secretary Chada Venkat Reddy deplored that the state government is being indifferent towards the youth and students community of the state. Stating that youth played a vital role in the Telangana movement, he asks the state government to immediately fulfil its poll promise of providing employment to one lakh youth as promised.
