After leaving audience in an awe-struck mode with an eye popping and sumptuous trailer, the makers of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming epic magnum opus ‘Padmavati’ have unveiled the first single ‘Ghoomar’ in the last week of October.
Ghoomar song lived up to the hype and hysteria and clocked millions of views in no time . Even after three weeks, the splendid song is trending in YouTube. Till now, it has garnered nearly 55 million views out of which 52 million views are from a single channel.
The song offers a visual treat for its flamboyant presentation of the Rajasthani traditional Ghoomar dance which is a regular practice to be followed by a newly married bride who has to perform at the bridegroom’s house when she enters for the first time after marriage.
Sung by Shreya Ghosal and Swaroop Khan, the folk number features Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmini, a coy bride who walks in and performs jives after her marriage with Shahid Kapoor. The song was shot in four days and it was specially choreographed by Jyothi D Tommaar. Music was given by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
