The Rajya Sabha adjourned as three times. Finally, Deputy Chairman PJ Kurien adjourns proceedings till 12.00 PM after the opposition stormed the well of the House. The day’s proceedings is also expected to see the Congress party raise the alleged “illegality” in the introduction of the Rs 2000 currency note.’

Finance Minister Arun Jaitly accused that the opposition was not ready for any debate on the demonetisation issue and was merely trying new tactics every day to disrupt Parliament. CPM’s Sitaram Yechury asks to debate later and to first offer tributes for people who have died standing in queues and working long hours in banks.

The BJP has issued directions to all its members in the Rajya Sabha to be present for proceedings starting Monday as the party lacks a majority in the House.

Even as ruling members of the House lay down papers on the table, there is uproar from the opposition benches in Lok Sabha. The opposition raising slogans against the demonetisation move of the government.

In the Lok Sabha meanwhile, Speaker Sumitra Mahajan succeeded in carrying out the Question Hour although the opposition continuing their disruptions. Later, she adjourned the house till 2 pm.
