As we reported yesterday Pathapatnam MLA Kalamataa Venktaramana is joining Telugu Desam Party. We were the first to report about his possible ditching of YSRC president YS Jaganmohan Reddy to join TDP, when he made himself unavailable for the emergency meeting of the party MLAs. He is expected to join TDP in the presence chief minister Chandrababu Naidu on March 4. He said it was a home coming for him. He was going to TDP, which, he said, was his original party. ” Earlier I worked for the TDP for ten years. I joined the YSR Congress under some compelling circum stances. Now I am coming back home,” the Patapatnam MLA declared. Next in the queue are Sarveswara Rao (Araku, Vizag district), Y Saipratap Reddy from Adoni and Y Balanagireddy from Mantralayam, both in Kurnool district. They are expected to join the TDP before the commencement of Budget session. ” Negotiations are over. The deal is struck. They are waiting for an auspicious moment, ” said sources close to these MLAs.
Meanwhile, Naidu, like his Telangana counterpart , K Chandrasekhar Rao, said all these MLAs , who were quitting YSRC and joining the TDP were doing so only to participate in the building of Navyandhra Pradesh. The other day admitting the TDP MLA Errabelli Dayakar Rao, into TRS, KCR said the TDP MLAs’ joining the TRS should not be construed as political defection. He said it was the process of reunification of Telangana forces.
Today addressing party general body meeting at Vijayawada, TDP supremo Naidu also adopted the concept and stated that these MLAs wanted to become partners in the development of Navyandhra Pradesh. He welcomed many more MLAs. ” There won’t be any problem for the new comersDelimitation of constituencies in Andhra Pradesh is on the offing. The present number of 175 will be increased to 225 seats in Assembly,” Naidu said.
