Are we living in Andhra Pradesh? Jana Senani Pawan Kalyan has expressed shock and condemned the killing of Andhra Jyothi journalist Katha Satyanarayana. The murder took place on the Lakshmidevi tank bund near S. Annavaram in East Godavari district. Senani described this as a heinous, barbaric and reprehensible act. He wondered why the police could not give any security though already one murder attempt was made on the same journalist nearly a month ago.
Pawan Kalyan said that the murder took place just a little distance away from the journalist’s house which was proof enough how bold the killers were. The attackers used knives and caused fatal injuries. Pawan said that journalism is the fourth pillar of the democracy and now this is coming under serious attack. He said that the conspirators seemed desperate and took the extreme step of putting fear in the journalists by resorting to the killing.
The AP government reacted seriously on the killing. CM Jaganmohan Reddy ordered DGP Gowtham Sawang to take immediate action to bring the culprits to the book. East Godavari SP has been asked to personally supervise the investigation into the case.
