With the issues related to transgenders started occupying centre stage of governance all over the world, probably Jana Sena Party will be the first political party in the country to have a separate wing to look after issues related to welfare and rights of transgenders.
The film-star-turned politician Pawan Kalyan has announced his plans for creating such a wing in the party. He was intending to do the same to ensure gender equality cutting across all the barriers.
For the first time, the Jana Sena president openly stated about his party’s organisational structure at the Harvard Kennedy School in the US and also announced plans to have a separate NRI wing to effectively use the services of NRI fans and supporters.
Making a keynote address on ‘Emerging India – Role of Andhra Pradesh’, Pawan Kalyan appealed to the governments to respect people’s sentiments else it would lead to disasters.
He pointed out that people are filled with emotions but the politicians look at them as vote banks. He stressed the need for emotional integration among people all over the country for speedy development of Bharath. Recalling that earlier leaders like Mahatma Gandhi used to travel all over the country continuously, so that to create a feeling of oneness. But, he asks now how many leader are doing the same?
“There should be a humane approach in politics and unless we address the issues at the individual level, India cannot progress,” he added.
