Hyderabad: Expressing his desire to contest in Lok Sabha elections, Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan has filed his application to the party political affairs committee (PAC). The PAC during a meeting held in Vijayawada has received its first application from Pawan Kalyan.
“Jana Sena party doesn’t give any value to financial background of candidates, but only commitment and moral values. The five-member screening committee will scrutinise applications. I ask all the aspirants to submit their applications to the five-member screening committee only,” said Pawan Kalyan.
Visakhapatnam former MLA Allu Bhanumanthi has joined Jana Sena party. Pawan Kalyan welcomed Bhanumathi saying that her entry will strengthen the party in Visakhapatnam constituency.
Jana Sena party has recently set up committess for five Lok Sabha constituencies in Telangana as well. Pawan Kalyan has announced Janaa Sena committees for Karimnagar, Adilabad, Hyderabad, Mahbubnagar and Nagar Kurnool Lok Sabha constituencies.
Jana Sena party leaders Hariprasad, Riyaz Khan, Mahender Reddy and Madasu Gangaram are members of the screening committee, which will submit the list of probables to Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan soon.
A member of the committee said that more number of applications are pouring in for Assembly constituencies when compared with Lok Sabha seats. “We’re receiving applications till February 21 and will finalise the list this month end. We’re confident that social equations will be maintained in the selection of candidates as the screening committee is also well balanced as it represents all sections of the society,” said a Jana Sena leader.
