Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan, who visited today Uddanam area of Srikakulam district to console the victims of kidney disease, has given 48 hours ultimatum to Chandrababu Naidu government to announce its action plan to rescue the victims in this area. Otherwise, he warned that after getting report on the problem from the five-member committee, constituted by him, he would personally led a mass agitation against the government.
He demanded the state government immediately to constitute a special committee to study the prevailing situation here and allot Rs 100 crore funds. Strongly condemning government’s negligence when thousands of people are dying in this area with kidney diseases and their family members turning into orphans, he wondered that why government is failing to spend some resource by treating it as a major disaster.
He asked when the government is spending hundreds of crores of rupees for Pushkarams and thousands of crores for capital city, is remaining silent towards such miserable situation. He deplore that hundreds of kidney patients have been leading a pathetic existence in this area with poor medical infrastructure in their vicinity. He wonders that officials are yet to identify the reasons for the spread of the disease in many villages.
On this occasion, he announced constitution of a five member committee headed by Dr Hari Prasad to submit a report on the prevailing conditions. Stating that the committee would submit report in 15 days, Pawan Kalyan said that later he would personally meet Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu seeking immediate attention.
