Jana Sena Party Chief Pawan Kalyan seems to be very happy with the immediate response from Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to his concern over the mysterious kidney ailments causing miseries to large number of families in Srikakulam district. Welcoming Naidu’s gesture, he said that the Chief Minister has understood the issue with more clarity than the minister from the district.
It may be recalled that last week the film star turned politician had visited Srikakulam district to console kidney ailment affected families in Uddanam area of the district. He had also given a deadline of 48 hours to the state government in order to respond on the issue else he would take up an agitation.
Expressing his satisfaction over Naidu’s response on the issue, he claimed that it was his victory and advised all the political parties should take up social responsibilities to react on such issues.
During his visit to Srikakulam yesterday to take part in Janmabhumi programme, Chief Minister has declared number of measures to be taken up to rescue victims of kidney ailment affected people. Stating that he is keen to find out the root-cause for the kidney ailment in the region, Chandrababu said that the focus needs to be on finding a permanent solution.
The measures he announced include to set up a drinking water plant in the district on the lines of Kuppam Assembly constituency so that to supply mineral water to every village. He also promised to provide mobile health services, besides consulting international experts to find a solution to such ailments.
Moreover, Chandrababu Naidu also promised to constitute a committee to look into this problem and assured to offer pension to those who have suffered from kidney failure. Further, he said that he has plans to set up few more dialysis centers and urged the Health & Panchayat Raj Departments to take up the issue in Uddanam as a challenge.
