The left parties in Andhra Pradesh, who are in search of a potential allay for the next assembly election seems to be presently sensing chances for a formidable alliance with Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan. With a formal meeting with CPI leaders today at his residence, the power star has given clear indication of his intention to sail with Left in coming days. Even he has indicated he will be having a similar meeting with CPM leaders soon.
CPI –AP state secretary and former MLA K. Ramakrishna, accompanied by his party’s MLC P J Chandrasekhar Rao met the film star. According to a media release by Janasena Party they had discussion contemporary political developments. They include special status to AP, effects of demonetization and problems related to land acquisition for various projects in the state.
The trend indicates that most likely Pawan Kalyan may resort to `joint action’ with left parties on these issues so that to mobilise people against the state government. It may be recalled that Pawan Kalyan, who had provided crucial support to TDP-BJP combine in the state is seen disgusted off-late with their policies and now in search of an alternate political platform.
Though, he recently coming out criticising policies of Narendra Modi government bitterly on issues like special status to Andhra Pradesh and `infamous’ demonetization, he is seen somewhat `soft’ towards Chandrababu Naidu’s government. But, if he decides to go with Left, he need to concentrate more on `failures’ of TDP government too.
Left parties, who used to be a formidable political force in the united Andhra Pradesh and even made futile attempt to establish the first democratically elected communist government in 50’s were upset with their failure to get any representation in the state assembly. It seems now they have realised that unless they succeeds in forging formidable alliance, it would be impossible for them to keep their political presence in the state intact.
