‘Power-star’ Pawan Kalyan is planning to put an end to the freelancing in politics and become full time ‘leader”. He revealed this to noted film critic Anumpama Chopra, in an interview. He clearly stated that he sees the writing on the wall… ” I don’t want to do too many films. Two or three films, that’s all,” he said without mincing words. He made it clear that he wants to contest the 2019 elections.
The president of Jana Sena wants to do a couple of movies for his sustenance and after that call it quits.
” If I don’t to films I can’t sustain myself. My first priority right now is how to sustain myself. I want to do two or three films,” he said.
After doing two three film, I want to give it up, he said unambiguously.
“This is a commitment I made to myself long back, not today…” he said.
Talking about politics, he said, ” If I want to get into politics, I want give it complete attention. Next elections i want to….”
“For 20 years, or from my childhood I have been thinking of it. I used to read headlines to know what is happening around,” he said.
It’s now clear that Pawan will soon take a plunge into full time politics. He did not reveal what his program was. He would go ahead with Jana Sena or align with BJP or sail with TDP or chart an independent course.
Pawan, who launched Jana Sena just before 2014 elections, rendered himself jobless in politics as he had been in league with TDP’ Chandrababu Naidu in Andhra Pradesh, BJPs Narendra Modi at the centre. Having seen they both won the power in Andhra Pradesh andNew Delhi respectively, Pawan suddenly found his bellicosity was out of place in Andhra Pradesh as he was in the company of ruling TDP. So, after delivering a couple of speeches and having had lunch from the boxes given by the Capital region farmers in Dharna at Amaravati, Pawan beat a hasty retreat into his save haven, tinsel wold . And of course popped uo now and then out of Twitter.
Now, things seems to be turning favorable for the ‘return of star’ Third yeas is most crucial for any party in power. If nothing is shown to the people in the in the third year, we can safely conclude only miracle could save the ruling party. TDP is facing this problems. And Kapus, a strong political community, is also waiting for a with many of the existing leaders looking passé .
From year four onwards politicians need to arm themselves with virulent speeches, mobilizations against purported failures of the government. During peacetime- between 2014 and now, the Jana Sena has lost its vitality as it was formed with ‘revolutionary rhetoric”. If Pawan wants to become a real power star of Andhra politics third year of current assembly tenure is the right time to take a plunge. No hide and seek. He should come out with clarity of thought and goal.
