The April 11 AP Assembly election is just 25 days away. There’s also less time for campaigning. At such a time, Pawan Kalyan took time off from his busy poll schedule and went to Lucknow where he reached a deal with BSP leader Mayawati. All this for what gains? BSP got just 1 per cent vote share in 2014 election in United AP.
Analysts say Jana Sena party will get above 5 per cent vote. Some say the share would be much higher that would be enough to change the fate of major contenders for power. Having such a strong position in AP politics, why has Pawan personally taken that much interest for a tie-up with the BSP? Jana Senani thinks his party alliance with Mayawati will change the political scene altogether to the extent that it will rise as a third contender for power.
Pawan has also miscalculated that there will be a new polarisation of the SC voters in favour of their alliance. But in reality, the major part of the SC vote bank is already divided between the TDP and the YCP following their traditional local politics.
