Jana Sena Party president and movie star Pawan Kalyan offered a piece of advice to ruling party MPs to fight for special status accorded to Andhra Pradesh by taking other MPs along.
As usual ‘twitter’ is his pulpit. Without revealing his action plan the ‘power star’ as he is known to his fans, made this request on behalf of the people of Seemandhra.
He was reacting on the controversy which was revived after union minister of state for home Haribhai Parthibhai’s statement made in Rajya Sabha yesterday. The minister clearly said AP doesn’t require special status as UPA government had given enough funds to the state of Andhra Pradesh.
Tweeting his usual one liners, Pawan cautioned the BJP not to commit the same mistake committed by Congress, by backing out on the promised special status to Andhra Pradesh.
“Exactly two years ago, after shunting out the Seemandhra MPs from the Parliament, the Congress committed grave mistake by haphazardly dividing the state,” he said in his tweets.
“The people of Seemandhra have not forgotten the humiliation and won’t forget it,” Pawan said.
“Today, dashing the hopes of people, if BJP backs out on the special status issue, it would be committing the same mistake. I hope that BJP won’t take steps in that direction,” he cautioned.
The movie star, who wants to incarnate into a full-time politician before 2019,is now busy with his movies. In tune with this he stopped commenting on the many important issues such as drought, defections, projects being constructed by Telangana to draw water from Krishna, unemployment problem etc.
This attitude has come in for severe criticism from political parties and others. Congress and YSR Congress wondered as to how a man who wants to become full-time politician would lose sight of many pressing problems faced by people of the state.
