Released last Friday, the squeaky clean romedy Pelli Choopulu is going great guns at the box office. The refreshing tale, which features Vijay Devarakonda and Ritu Varma in the lead roles, is winning accolades from all sections of the audience and is doing phenomenally well in all areas of its release. Directed by newcomer Tharun Bhascker, the film was produced by Raj Kandukuri on a shoestring budget.
Pelli Choopulu is having a dream run in overseas as well. According to the latest trade reports, the film has notched up $ 294K in the US at the end of the first weekend and is inching closer to the half million mark. The strong word of mouth is doing wonders for the film and the positive web reviews are an added advantage. Trade circles believe that the collections will touch the half million mark by the end of next weekend.
The flawless narration and the impressive performances by the lead pair are the major highlights for Pelli Choopulu. Many big names from Tollywood like Suresh Babu, Rana Daggubati, SS Rajamouli, Venkatesh etc have appreciated the film.
