Tollywood’s latest sensational hit Pelli Choopulu is continuing its dream run at the box office. The collections have increased phenomenally in the second week due to the strong word of mouth and the film is inching towards attaining a blockbuster status. In overseas, Pelli Choopulu is having a strong run in the second weekend. According to the latest trade reports, the film has collected $ 110K on Saturday and surpassed the $ 600K mark ( Total $ 639K till now). The film was bought for just 12 lakhs and it has grossed around 4 crore 20 lakhs till now.
In the meantime, both Manamantha and Srirastu Subhamastu, which released last Friday are heading towards disasters in overseas. After opening to a lukewarm response on Friday, both these films failed to show any signs of improvement in the the first weekend.
Manamantha, which features Mohan Lal and Gauthami, directed by Chandrasekhar Yeleti, collected a measly $ 49k on Saturday to take the total to $ 82K. Trade reports say that there is hardly any increase on Sunday and the film is likely to end up as a huge loss to the distributor. Also, Allu Sirish’s latest family entertainer Srirastu Subhamasthu has been rejected by the overseas audience. The film is struggling to collect promising numbers and will be a huge disaster in overseas. Bought for 50 lakhs, the Parasuram directional has so far collected an insignificant $ 29K from all locations.
