Hyderabad: Telangana Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav on Monday came down heavily on the Telangana Congress leaders for blaming Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao with regard to creation of new districts. “People will slit your tongue if you take the name of KCR without giving respect,” he thundered.
Speaking to media persons in Hyderabad, Talasani sought to know whether the leaders had ever attempted to make a research on the districts. He also questioned the leaders as to why they did not made objections on creation of Gadwal and Jangaon during the all-party meeting convened by the Chief Minister a fortnight ago.
Although there is demand that Sircilla be made a district, Peddapalli has been chosen for the better administration, he said. “Do you need Chief Minister to address your doubts? mandal-level leaders are enough for you to resolve your queries,” he quipped.
Meanwhile, the Telangana government seems to be rethinking on the draft notification issued on new districts in Telangana following severe objections raised from the people in creation of some districts. Following stiff opposition from the people not to bifurcate Hanumkonda from Warangal, KCR convened a meeting with Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma and other officials to discuss the issue.
Objections have been pouring in from the people urging the government to ensure that Hanumkonda, Kazipet and Warangal which are considered to be Tri-city, be put in one district.
It is learnt that KCR took a decision not to bifurcate the Hanumkonda division from Warangal. A new district will be carved out – Warangal Rural, by merging the mandals coming under Hanumkonda into Warangal. The State government is mulling to name the Warangal Rural district with other names such as – ‘Bhadrakali’ or ‘Kakatiya’.
