Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu said that the state will have mega pharmaceutical clusters at four places. To make the state, Medical Hub of the country, the four clusters will be located at Pulivendula in Kadapa, Krishnapatnam in Nellore, Dindi in East Godavari and at Atchutapuram and Rambilli in Visakhapatnam.
The state which hosts 162 pharma units is targeting to increase the number by three times in the next couple of years. Consequently, a task force of officials and representatives of pharmaceutical industries will be founded to enable the development of required infrastructure by instituting formula drugs and active pharmaceutical ingredient manufacturing plants in these clusters.
The Chief Minister informed about the clusters, in a meeting with the delegates of Pharmaceutical Exports Promotion Council of India, Drugs Control Organisation and businesspersons from the pharma sector held on Monday at the Secretariat in Velgapudi.
