Phethai effect is clearly seen on Hyderabad city. Suddenly the climate of the city changed and Hyderabad turned like a hill station. The maximum temperature recorded in the city is 20.8 degrees Celsius in the city, which is 7 degrees less than the normal.This is due to Cyclone Phethai which has hit Andhra Pradesh coast, according to the India Met Department.
The continuous drizzling, heavy clouds and sweeping cold winds – this is the picture of Hyderabad climate now. Sudden change in the climate forced most citizens to dust their woollens out of the closet. Meteorologists have forecast that the cyclone will cause the temperatures to remain low for at least two more days.
Minimum temperature remained around 15 degrees Celsius in Hyderabad. There were heavy rains in Bhadradri, Kothagudem, Khammam, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Nalgonda and Bhupalapally areas. Medak recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 13 degrees Celsius.
