The Telangana state government which seems to be determined not to allow Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) proposed `Nirudyogula Nirasana Pradarsana’ (Unemployed Protest Rally), scheduled to be in the city tomorrow, has indicated the Hyderabad High Court that the police many not object if the organizers shifts the venue from centre of the city to outskirts. It also insisted that there should not be a rally, but confine to a public meeting.
The police claimed that they were restrained to make such suggestions for security reasons. In this regard, the alternate places suggested by the police include open grounds at SS Convention near Shamshabad, Nagole metro rail, Miyapur, Abdullapurmet, Cherial village of Keesara mandal and Walamtari near Gandipet.
Advocate general K Ramkrishna Reddy said before the High Court that the State had no objection to a meeting on outskirts. However, TJAC counsel B Rachna Reddy said that the TJAC would agree to have no rally, but will conduct the meeting within city limits from 11 am to 3 pm on Feb 22. TJAC will have no objection if the police grants permission for conducting the proposed meeting even at places like NTR stadium, Nizam college grounds, LB stadium and Necklace Road.
Meanwhile, the High Court is expected to give its verdict today. Exuding confidence that required permission will be granted to the proposed rally, TJAC chairman M Kodandaram alleged that already police had detained TJAC members. He asked the State government to release all the detained persons and allow the TJAC to hold its rally, peacefully.
Meanwhile, Samajika Telangana JAC chairman Prof Gali Vinod Kumar has condemned TJAC chairman Prof M Kodandaram’s jobless youth rally on February 22. He accused that Kodandaram has never raised ‘social justice’ in Telangana and never demanded increase in reservations for SC, ST, BC and Minorities as per their population. He also pointed out that Kodandaram never questioned Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for not appointing a Dalit as the CM as promised.
