The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is going to be the biggest victim in the fast changing political atmosphere in the two Godavari districts ahead of 2019 elections. Many of its aspiring leaders are testing their luck if they can get a better bargain and join the Jana Sena Party of Pawan Kalyan.
Especially in East Godavari, the BJP leaders who want to contest and succeed in next elections are considering Jana Sena as a better bet. As the elections are approaching fast, the BJP is losing more support at the grassroots level with both the TDP and Pawan Kalyan criticising it over non-fulfillment of special status demand and other promises. Some sections of Kaput community used to support the BJP but this time they are looking towards Pawan.
Seeing the increasing demand, Jana Sena is taking its own time and carefully analysing all possibilities before giving any commitment to leaders wanting to join their party. Several BJP leaders have already opened talks with Jana Sena and they are asking for MP and MLA tickets for them or their family members.
The YSR Congress Party is the next victim as its leaders are also worried whether Jana Sena will push Jaganmohan Reddy’s party to a third place in the Godavari districts. Not to miss any chances, these YCP leaders are also trying to get assurances of tickets from Jana Sena.
