Ex-Minister Mr. Ponnala Lakshmaiah, who gave B-forms to congress candidates in the previous elections as the chief of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), is now queuing up at the senior leaders and high-command at Delhi for getting B-form to contest from Janagaon assembly segment in Warangal district. In the recent past, Mr. Ponnala took initiation in motivating Telugu-dominated-voters in Karnataka elections and played key role in the victory of the party. But, his candidature in Telangana elections is in dilemma.
As the chief of TJS Professor Kodandaram has already declared that he would be contesting from Janagaon from Mahakutami, there are no chances to Mr. Ponnala except contesting in the elections as rebel. His associates are openly commenting that the anti-Ponnala batch in the party is wantedly keeping him far from the active politics.
Besides Mr. Ponnala, few other senior congress leaders from Warangal are facing similar situation and roaming around Delhi to get B-forms. The Chief of District Congress Committee Mr. Naini Rajender Reddy sought ticket from Warangal-West segment. But, the ticket was given to newly joined Konda Surekha. When the congress did not support financially for party’s programmes, Mr. Reddy sold out his properties and organised several meetings successfully. His associates took oath to give a big victory to Mr. Reddy as rebel candidate. Another senior leader Mr. Kondeti Sridhar from Vardhannapet segment too disappointed as his ticket was given to TJS under alliance principles of Mahakutami.
