They assure that the film will be made on a shoestring and also promise to act for free and sign a deal to share profits after the release of the film. They take the innocent producer for a ride by spending more budget on the film than what is estimated. The young hero’s recently released film bombed heavily at the box office. The budget spent on the film was 11 Crores and the film has already been termed as a disaster at the box office.
A couple of years back, another NRI producer also suffered huge loss by producing the young hero’s film which ended as a disaster at the box office. They made similar promises at that time and spent more budget than what is promised while signing the film. On both occasions, it is the NRI producers who have fallen into their trap.
