NRIs turning producers in Tollywood is not a new thing. Mythri Movie Makers, Nirvana Cinemas, SRT Entertainments are some of those production houses which are led by NRIs. The latest one to join the list is SLV Cinemas, owned by Sudhakar and Prasad, which made its production debut with Padi Padi Leche Manasu.
Lack of experience has proved costly for these two NRI producers. They spent around 40 Crores budget on Padi Padi Leche Manasu which is way beyond Sharwanand’s present market. Unfortunately, the film couldn’t find promising business offers as they have expected. Left with no option, they released the film on their own in some areas. The film opened to poor reports and registered dismal collections in its first weekend.
As per trade analysts, the producers are likely to incur huge losses in all areas. Like Nirvana Cinemas and SRT Entertainments, SLV Cinemas is another NRI production house that has bagged a huge failure in Tollywood this year.
