The announcement of “Pragathi Nivedana Sabha” (Progress report meeting) created sort of tremors in political circles. Opponent parties keenly followed this meeting as they guessed KCR might announce early elections through this meeting. They also had doubts whether KCR will announce any welfare scheme that is aimed at elections. Not only political circles, but people also showed interest in this. They keenly followed it to see if KCR will announce any new welfare schemes or any new job notifications.
However, KCR’s speech was confined to reporting the progress his party made in this four-year period. KCR said he is not going to announce any new welfare schemes now because it is not appropriate to do so. KCR’s argument is that, as he is already in power, he should do something is possible instead of announcing it like election gimmick. He also added that, what his government would do after coming to power will be presented through party’s election manifesto which is being worked out by senior leader KK. So, KCR let down people who waited for announcements on early elections or new schemes. KCR concluded his speech without giving any conclusive information on early elections. He told, his cabinet gave full authorizations to him to take decision on this but he would still ponder on it and take the decision that would benefit entire Telangana.
After all this, now people wonder why KCR convened meeting on such grand scale when he doesn’t have anything specific or new to communicate to people. He didn’t announce any key political decision nor he announced any major welfare scheme. Just to report the progress of his government, he need not have this big meeting with such huge hype ( and of course, no need to talk about all the huge expenditure for this).
