Super talented actor Prakash raj received critical acclaim for his performance and he has been entertaining the audience from the past few decades. He later shifted his focus towards direction however leaving everyone in surprise, he could not impress the audience big time. Though his debut movie Dhoni ended up as a decent entertainer, his second directorial Ulavacharu Biryani has been declared as a debacle. He is back with his third outing Mana Oori Ramayanam which released during Dasara this year. The movie received wide response however the collections have been quite poor.
Mana Oori Ramayanam received decent response from the audience however the makers failed to recover even the publicity charges which is quite surprising. The ace director has been deeply saddened by the film’s result and he even took social media to urge the audience to watch Mana Oori Ramayanam which he revealed as a honest attempt. Earlier, Sekhar Kammula, Krish and Chandrasekhar Yeleti too directed honest films which could not do well in commercial terms. The biggest mistake Prakashraj did is releasing his film in a wrong time along with a bunch of releases during Dasara which made Mana Oori Ramayanam lose audience even after getting decent word of mouth.
With the life of cinema coming down, a solo and comfortable release will sure help the film get decent box-office figures. Mana Oori Ramayanam happened to be the last option during Dasara this year. Also, he has been preferring remakes instead of straight stories which is sure a factor that will have an impact on the audience. Also Prakash raj who proved his acting skills has been focusing on showcasing himself as an actor instead of dedicating his full time to direction. Along with these, any film should appeal or impress to atleast a section of audience to turn out as a money spinner at the box-office. However Prakash raj has been simply relying on films that bring a good feel which is no use to end up as a commercial entertainer. It’s high time for the actor to come up with a fresh and sensible script, focus completely on direction to end up scoring a decent commercial hit as a director.
