With Andhra Pradesh government gearing up for allowing private universities, dozens corporate entities and educational institutes have applied for permission and allotment of huge parcels of land in various parts of the state, mostly around capital and Coastal Andhra region.
Government is likely get the bill that permits the private universities in the state passed in Assembly in current session. As per our information about 25 entities have come forward to set up their universities in Andhra Pradesh. If set up, these institutes would make Andhra Pradesh a big market of university education.
Some important institutes that sought land are:
Amrutha University -300 acres
Sports University-100 acres
Logistics University -75 acres.
Yalamanchili Infrs’s YVR University-20 acres
GMR University- 20 acres
SRM University -200 acres
Esha centre for Yoga and Dhyana- 20 acres
CII Knowledge Economy Zone- 200 acres
Esha Law Academy-200 acres
XLRI- 150 acres
All these universities, according to a rough estimate, will invest about Rs 20,000 crore in the next ten or fifteen year in Andhra Pradesh. The employment generation shown on papers is 8 lakh jobs.
