The ongoing third wave of coronavirus spoiled the big plans of 2022 for Indian filmmakers. RRR is the biggest film that is planned for release and it is now pushed. Several big-budget Hindi, Telugu and Tamil films are announced this year and planned for a wide and record release. The heaping up interests because of the delay is the biggest stress for the producers and they are not clear about when their films will hit the screens and when normalcy returns. Protecting the content happens to be the other biggest challenge for any filmmaker.
Most of the announced films are ready for release and the final copy is locked. But during the post-production stages, the content is shared with the editing team, VFX team, direction department, music director and other teams. Also, there are hundreds of films in post-production stage for now. Protecting the content and managing the teams is a sensitive issue as there would be ego clashes between them if asked. Protecting the content happens to be the biggest challenge for filmmakers. They cannot retrieve the content completely as it is shared with various teams and the producers of several upcoming biggies are left tensed. They are monitoring the work on a daily basis for now through the production teams. If the content gets leaked, crores of money invested would be at risk.
For now, protecting the film’s content is the top priority and the need of the hour for every filmmaker who has releases planned in 2022 and 2023.
