YSR Congress rebel MP, K Raghu Ramakrishnam Raju, finally landed in Bhimavaram on Saturday. He reached Rajamahendravaram airport and from there he went to Bhimavaram by road.
As he reached Rajamahendravaram airport, hundreds of his supporters too reached and welcomed him. They followed the MP to Bhimavaram in a massive motor rally. He alleged that the state government had prevented him from visiting the constituency for the past four years.
The MP reached Bhimavaram after four years for the first time. He could not visit the town even when his grandmother died. The state police have booked 11 cases against him, including an SC, ST Case.
The MP filed a petition in the State high court seeking protection from the police. While the state police opposed the petition, the court directed the police to give him protection to visit his native village.
Earlier, Raghu Ramakrishnam Raju was arrested by the APCID and was sent to judicial remand. He alleged that the CID police have tortured him and beat him up. However, the CID officials denied having beat him and said that they have only questioned him as part of the interrogation.
The MP also filed a case against the CID in the high court, which is being heard by the court. He broke with the ruling YSR Congress four years ago and had been fighting against the leadership on a daily basis.
Meanwhile, the MP said that he would give resignation to the YSR Congress in the second week of February. He said that the TDP and Jana Sena alliance was fixed and that was the end of the YSR Congress in the coastal districts.
The MP predicted that the BJP leadership would also decide on going with the TDP and Jana Sena once the Ram Mandir issue in Ayodhya is completed. He predicted that the BJP would join the TDP and Jana Sena for the elections.
