Rahul Gandhi twitter hacked, Rahul twitter handler hacked
Creating a political sensation, this late evening Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi’s verified Twitter account was hacked. His handle, @OfficeOfRG, tweeted abuses aimed at Rahul and the Gandhi family. It was done by a group called Legion.
The tweets were deleted within minutes, but they did not go unnoticed. One of the tweet was directed at Rahul Gandhi’s opposition to the Centre’s demonetisation move and another took swipes at scandals under the UPA government.
The account hasn’t been retrieved by Rahul Gandhi’s team till now. The hacker has been tweeting indiscriminately with posts laden with expletives. While the tweets are been promptly deleted, hacker’s access to the Twitter account hasn’t been revoked so far. Rahul Gandhi’s twitter handle was also changed.
The first six tweets were deleted shortly after being posted. More offensive tweets, however, kept showing up on the Twitter account – @OfficeOfRG — every few minutes and were being deleted immediately after being posted.
At one point, his handle name was changed. The hackers also removed Gandhi’s profile picture and the account description was altered to read “This is the official account of the Office of Retard Gandhi”.
Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala confirming that Rahul’s account was hacked in a tweet warned that: “Such lowly tactics will never drown the sane voice of reason nor deter Sh. Rahul Gandhi from raising.” Congress media coordinator Pranav Jha said they will file a complaint with the Cyber Cell of city police.
