Days after celebrating his daughter Brahmini’s marriage very lavishly, Income Tax officials today conducted a raids on former BJP Minister and disgraced mining baron Gali Janardhana Reddy’s companies.
The offices of Obulapuram Mining Company and Associated Mining Company, both owned by Janardhan Reddy and his family were raided by Income Tax sleuths in Ballari. Last year, SIT had raided the same companies over allegations of illegal mining.
The IT raid follows a big fat wedding Reddy had thrown to his daughter Brahmani in Bangalore last week, which had been covered even by international media. For this wedding, he had allegedly spent hundreds of cores of rupees. This even was even covered by international media.
Reddy, who was attending a reception for the newly-wed couple in Hyderabad, returned back to Ballari. The raid was based on a complaint filed by a RTI activist T Narasimha Murthy. The details of raids are yet to be known.
