The Income Tax (IT) officials raids in to the premises of three Telugu businessmen, including a trustee board member of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) exposing many political links he is having. About 60 officials conducted raids in to the premises of Sekhar Reddy and also two of his associates Srinivas Reddy and Prem Reddy. Among them Sekhar Reddy is TTD board member, who is said to be close to former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalihtaa and also Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, besides a top BJP leader.
The searches were conducted in their premises in Velpur and Katpadi, besides Chennai. According to news reports, the IT officials have seized an astonishing 100 kgs of gold and over Rs 90 crore currency. The total value of seizures are said to be Rs 130 crore. The gold is found in bars form. The cash include Rs 70 crore worth new currency notes and Rs 20 crore worth old currency notes.
The search is going on in their Chennai premises. IT officials interrogating three of them. Sekhar Reddy is said to be a key player in AIADMK and in the business of sand and mines. He has the through access into Jayalalithaa’s residence Veda Nilayam. It was Chandrababu Naidu, who nominated him as TTD Board member.
He is presently commissioning over Rs 1,000 crore worth contracts in Tamil Nadu government. The IT raids immediately after demise of Jayalalithaa gaining significance among Tamil Nadu political circles.
