Ram charan Interview, Dhruva Promotion
Ram Charan is getting ready to entertain movie lovers with Dhruva on Dec 9th. As a part of film promotions, Mega Power Star interacted with scribes and here are the snippets of the interview.
Are you confident or tensed about the film release?
Ramcharan: Yes. I have both confidence and tension as usual before the release of all my films.
Is remake reducing or increasing your tension?
RC: Remake will increase the tension as the film turned out to be a hit in other language. We have more pressure as we shouldn’t spoil the original and it should also impress the local viewers.
Why did you chose a remake film?
RC: There is nothing wrong in doing a remake. It is an attempt to show something new to our people as the subject attracted viewers of other language. Remake is also a story and one shouldn’t look down remakes. For me original or remakes are no different and all are equal for me.
How did Dhruva remake happened. Did you decide to do the role?
RC: When NVN.Prasad narrated the story to me,I thought why shouldn’t I do as I loved the subject. This is a hero eccentric film which everyone like but with different concept. We are confident that viewers will like this novelty too.
Are you looking for image changeover?
RC: One cannot be confined to particular image if that happens I will be like a statue on tank bund.
What is your experience in sharing screen presence with Aravind Swamy?
RC: He is a senior actor and I was tensed at the start as he is reprising the role with which he already scored a hit. However as the shoot progressed we becacme close.
Did you chose Aravind Swamy only because he did the role in the original or considered any other option?
RC: We never considered another option. Aravind Swamy did very well and Telugu viewers missed him for a long time.
Did you unlearn or learn for the film?
RC: I should learn a lot. I am not a method actor.
Seems you have strained yourself physically and mentally?
RC: I should have done that longtime back. But this time I got the opportunity and it will be seen on screen. All this happened as the story is completely new. Film’s trailer, teaser and everything will be new to Telugu viewers.
Did you make any changes to the original Thani Oruvan?
RC: We stuck to the original as much as possible.
Allu Aravind said the film will create new records in overseas?
RC: If it happens it is good. We planned the promotions in new manner. Cancelled audio function and had pre release function and entire team will interact with movie lovers in overseas premiers.
In Thani Oruvan, Aravind Swamy was shown as larger than life role. Generally in Tollywood villain won’t be shown in such manner. Is that true?
RC: Keeping in view the sensitivities and tastes of the movie lovers true that Aravind Swamy’s role has been reduced. However the flavour remains the same. Surender Reddy made small changes according to Telugu movie lovers tastes but we did not tamper with the original flavor.
Did you get tempted to do Aravind Swamy role?
RC: (laughing) No. Hero’s role has different kind of emotions and I am happy with it. Aravind Swamy’s role is tempting but I don’t want to do negative roles and influence youngsters and kids in a wrong manner.
What is the significance of 8?
RC: Wait for few more days
Did your learning process change after Bruce Lee?
RC: With every film result I learn and definitely after Bruce Lee result may be selection of scripts and decision making changed.
Did you ever think of not doing remake following Zanjeer debacle. In Zanjeer too you played the role of police officer and also comparisons come with the original?
RC: It crossed in my mind at the thought of police officer role but the film story is too good.
Is that why you repeated Rakul Preet Singh though you tasted a flop?
RC: No one else is there. Rakul is a brilliant actress and she scored hits like Naannaku Prematho etc.
Dhruva music is attracting viewers?
RC: We finalised Hiphop Tamizha as he gave good music for the original and he is extremely talented.
Surender Reddy said he is not interested in remakes?
RC: Did he say that. Any person who scored a hit with his previous film will be against remakes. Pressure will be more as comparisions will come. But we forced Surender Reddy and once he decided ,he owned the film as his brainchild.
Did Upasana give any tips to you on six pack?
RC: No..I had my own trainer and dietitian.
Is there any comedy in the film?
