This Friday, it is a three-way fight at the box office as Rana’s NRNM, Nithiin’s LIE and Boyapati Srinu’s JJN hit the screens amidst high expectations.
In overseas, Rana’s NRNM opened on a strong note compared to the other two releases. As Rana is coming from the stupendous success of Baahubali 2, NRNM got good screen count in all areas. The political thriller, a Teja directional, notched up a promising $ 140K from its premiers day. This is an impressive start considering the genre and the tough competition.
Nithiin’s LIE, which was shot majorly in abroad and released in decent number of screens in US, managed to collect $ 50K. This is a decent start and the fate of the film depends on the first weekend. The film garnered a mixed talk and received average web reviews. Hanu Raghavapudi is the director.
Boyapati Srinu’s Jaya Janaki Nayaka, an out and out commercial entertainer, is off to a very slow start. The film collected a meagre $ 8.2 K from its premiers. The film has been getting positive reviews from B, C centres in Telugu states. It remains to be seen how the film fares in overseas in the first weekend.
On the other side, Varun Tej’s Fidaa is at a touching distance from entering the prestigious 2 Million club.
