CM Revanth Reddy-led Congress Government announced Dearness Allowance of 2.5 percent to the employees of Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) on Friday.
Telangana Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar announced the key decision of 2.5 percent D.A, bringing cheers to about 46,746 employees of TGSRTC. Ponnam Prabhakar said, the decision to announce D.A will put additional financial burden of Rs 3.6 Cr per month on Telangana Government, but keeping in view the welfare of employees, Congress Government has gone ahead.
“Congress Govt has been making all efforts to strengthen TGSRTC and ensure welfare of its employees. We had decided to give Dearness Allowance of 2.5 percent. Though we have to incur Rs 3.6 Cr additional financial burden, we have decided to offer DA to ensure RTC employees well being and welfare,” said Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar speaking to the media.
Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar promised to stay committed for TGSRTC employees welfare. He appreciated them for making Mahalakshmi free bus travel for women scheme success, saying that total 1.5 cr women have utilized Mahalakshmi free bus travel, costing more than Rs 4,500 cr for the Government.
TGSRTC employees have been demanding for the hike in salaries and other benefits. They have even issued strike notices to Revanth Reddy Sarkar in February. However recognizing their efforts Govt has come up with D.A now.
