The TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu is the first non-BJP leader in the country who had hailed Prime Minister Narenra Modi’s `demonetization’ move, immediately after his announcement. He even claimed that it was his idea and he who suggested the same. Of-course, later observing people’s hardships he went back. But his party his crucial allay of BJP-led NDA.
But, his party’s `fire brand’ MLA from Telangana turned to be a severe critic of the move. When Telangana assembly took up a debate on this issue, while the ruling TRS extended all-out support, his critical comments makes many to wonder.
He even objected to the very word of `demonetization’ and asked the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to reform that very word from the copy of his statement presented in the Assembly. The TRS members, who used to provoke themselves with the very presence of Revanth Reddy, became furious and questions is TDP adopting two different policies in two Telugu states.
While Chandrababu Naidu is owing the move as of his own creation also heading a high level committee constituted by NITI Aayog on this issue, they asked him how he can differ with it.
According to him `demonetization’ gives a meaning of banning notes altogether. “But here RBI not removing them altogether, but only changing notes. Replacing Rs 1,000 notes with Rs 2,000 notes and also Rs 500 note with another Rs 500 note. How can we call it demonetization?”
Though his words looks logical, many unable to understand. He blamed Chief Minister’s `ignorance’ for unable to understand his logic. Even BJP members were also caught in dilemma. But strategically, he didn’t committed himself whether he is supporting the move or opposing?
