TTDP sees Telangana Government’s decision to stipulate the creamy layer rule to extend welfare benefits to Backward Communities would give the much-needed oxygen to reclaim its political space. Party working president A Revanth Reddy wrote a letter to T CM KCR demanding a roll back of the government’s decision.
Hyderabad:The Telangana Telugu Desam Party (TTDP) has decided to step up its anti against the ruling TRS government taking the issue of inclusion of Backward Classes within the preview of creamy layer.
After laying for some time, the TTDP working president A Reventh Reddy has shot off a letter to the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao, opposing the state government’s decision.
Earlier, the government had decided to brining those persons belonging to Backward Communities having more than Rs 6 lakh income under the preview of creamy layer stipulation. The government’s decision has come with an object to extend the benefits of the state government’s welfare schemes to the poorest of the poor among the BCs.
However, sensing this could give the much-needed oxygen to the party which had suffered from the Cash for Note and a series of defections from TTDP to TRS, the party has reportedly decided to take up the issue to reclaim its lost political space in Telangana.
In his letter Revanth Reddy has reportedly pointed out that the Constitution has given certain privileges to these communities basing on their backwardness in the society. And, he further pointed out that the Telangana government’s decision would amount to deny them their due.
Claiming that the TDP is the only party which has fought for the rights of the BCs, the TTDP working president demanded the government roll back its decision.
