Hyderabad: After formation of new districts, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is mulling to lay roads to ensure accident-free driving.
KCR wanted the officials to come up with a detailed proposal after studying the present scenario of the highways in the State. Now, KCR doesn’t want to compromise on quality of the working in laying roads.
KCR convened a review meeting with Ministers and officials of Roads and Buildings department on Tuesday in Hyderabad.
The Chief Minister also directed the officials to take up the 330 kms-outer-ring road works on war footing. The officials were directed to bring about Detailed Project Report (DPR) on Outer-Ring Roads in all the districts. The Telangana government has decided to conduct land acquisition within no time for ORR.
Telangana will be getting an additional Rs 620 crore from the Centre under Central Road Fund. On Monday, Minister for Roads & Buildings Tummala Nageswara Rao said that the Centre would look into further demand for the grant of Rs 3,000 crore for roads in the districts. Karimnagar district with highest number of roads of 44.10 kms with an expenditure of Rs 47 crore.
