Genius filmmaker Shankar has teamed up with Superstar Rajinikanth for Robot 2.0 which is the sequel to the blockbuster science fiction thriller Robot. The film was formally launched a few days ago in Chennai and the first schedule is currently underway.
The shooting has been progressing at a brisk pace and the first schedule will be wrapped up on the 30th of this month. Some key scenes featuring Rajinikanth are being canned at present. Soon after completing this schedule, Rajinikanth will resume shooting for his upcoming gangster drama Kabali which is nearing completion.
Amy Jackson will be seen as a Robot in the film and Akshay Kumar plays a crucial role. Oscar-winning music composer AR Rahman is scoring the tunes and Baahubali fame Srinivas Mohan will design the VFX shots. Lyca International is bankrolling the film which is being made on a lavish budget.
